Tayfen Road in Bury St Edmunds to be shut for two weeks for work on The Lantern flats development
A major road in Bury St Edmunds will be shut for two weeks due to works linked to the development of a block of flats.
Tayfen Road will close from February 15 to 27 between the Station Hill roundabout and junction with St Andrew's Street North.
The closure is for works on The Lantern block for flats which is being built in Tayfen Road.
A huge ‘TAYFEN’ sign painted on the block of flats has been a talking point among residents.
Social media users described it as ‘vile’ and an ‘eyesore’.
However, some approved, saying the sign gives the area character and Bury needs updating.
Approval for the building was granted at planning appeal.
