Make a date with We Love Bury St Edmunds group’s calendar
A calendar for those who love Bury St Edmunds has been launched by the friends Facebook group We Love Bury St Edmunds.
The group was founded last December as a way for friends from the town to reconnect.
It had 9,000 followers after a month and now has more than 12,000.
It set up a website recently, but the We Love Bury St Edmunds calendar is a new venture. It, naturally, features pictures of Bury but not just the obvious things like the Abbey Gardens of St Edmundsbury Cathedral.
Organiser James Sheen said: “All the pictures have been taken by members.
“I chose the pictures with the most ‘feel good factor’.”
The photographers are Anna Frankum, Jeremy Chadwick, John Hughes, Josephine Sweetman, Maureen Nicholls, Nick Betson and Paul “Budgie” Burgess.
It also features a new logo for the group, designed by Krysten Newby, which shows the Abbey Gate with its arch turned into a heart shape.
Part of the proceeds from the sale of the 500 calendars will go to North Court Care home in Northgate Street.
The £4.99 desk calendars are available from Court News, in Glastonbury Road ,and in the We Love Bury St Edmunds online shop at www.welovebse.com and come with a mailing envelope.
You can also use the online shop to book tickets for the We Love Bury St Edmunds A Night 2 Remember Christmas party at Ashlar House, in Eastern Way, featuring 1976 Eurovision Song Contest winners Brotherhood of Man.
The party is on December 18 from 7pm until 12.30am and tickets start at £34.99.
