Bury St Edmunds: Man, 18, to appear in court charged with throwing a noxious substance in 'targeted attack'




An 18-year-old Walsham-le-Willow man has been charged with two counts of administering a noxious substance, after an incident in Bury St Edmunds.

The update this evening follows a police incident last night (July 21) - where a man was said to have thrown an unknown liquid into the face of another man in his 20s in the car park in St Olaves Precinct.

The alleged victim was taken to hospital for treatment after he sustained minor injuries. He has now been discharged.

Kyelan Conaty, 18, from Elm Drive, Walsham-le-Willows, has been remanded in custody and is set to appear in court tomorrow (Thursday, July 23).

Police said: "This appears to have been a targeted assault between parties known to each other."

Two others, boys aged 16 and 17, have been released on bail - set to return on August 5.
