Man, 22, charged over armed robbery at Lakenheath pharmacy

A 22-year-old man from Mildenhall has been charged in connection with an armed robbery in Lakenheath as well as two other robberies.

Police were called at 3.20pm on Friday, February 26 to reports that a man entered a pharmacy, in High Street, holding a knife and stole a quantity of cash from the till before running off.

Daniel Mitson, of St John’s Close, Mildenhall, was arrested in Lakenheath on Saturday afternoon in connection with this crime and has subsequently been charged with robbery.

Mitson has also been charged with two further counts of robbery relating to the following incidents:

At 9.55pm on Wednesday, February 24 a man holding a knife was reported to have entered a convenience store in King Street, Mildenhall, a stole a quantity of cash from the till and two bottles of whisky.

A robbery at a store in Ashley, Cambridgeshire, on Tuesday, February 23, where a quantity of cash was stolen.

Mitson has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court this morning, Monday, February 29.
