Bury St Edmunds man, 26, sees historic sex offence trial set for next year
A 26-year-old Bury St Edmunds man will stand trial next year after denying 14 historic underage sex offences.
Gregory Mackender, of The Daubentons, is alleged to have committed the crimes upon victims aged under 13 between 2004 and 2011.
He pleaded not guilty before Ipswich Crown Court today and will return for when his trial commences from Monday, May 17, 2022.
Mackender has been under investigation for the past six years.
He pleaded not guilty to: Four counts of raping a boy under 13; three counts of raping a girl under 13; two counts of assaulting a boy under 13 by touching; three counts of engaging with sex with a child under 13 with penetration; and two counts of engaging in a sexual activity with a child under 13 without penetration.
All alleged offences were said to have been committed in Bury.
Mackender has been granted unconditional bail.
