Bury St Edmunds man, 27, accused of rape and assault appears in court

A Bury St Edmunds man has appeared in court accused of rape, sexual assault and possessing indecent and extreme images of children and animals.

George Carter, 27, Raedwald Drive, Bury, appeared at Suffolk Magistrates' Court, in Ipswich, on Friday.

He entered no pleas on 10 charges, including two of rape and one sexual assault alleged to have taken place in 2019 and possession of indecent and extreme images of children and animals.

The case was sent to crown court.

Carter was granted unconditional bail and is due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on November 5.
