Bury St Edmunds man denies beating police officers in West Suffolk Hospital
A Bury St Edmunds man has pleaded not guilty to assaulting two police officers in West Suffolk Hospital.
Ayden Devine, 28, of no fixed abode, is accused of beating two male officers in the infirmary on Tuesday. Police said he had been taken to hospital after he was arrested in the town centre earlier in the day over another incident.
Devine was said to have headbutted one officer in the face and bitten the other on the arm.
This morning, Devine appeared before Suffolk Remand Court and stated that he did not want any legal representation.
A date for the trial has yet to be agreed. He could face prison if convicted.
