Bury St Edmunds man Piotr Prasalek charged after woman filmed in West Suffolk Hospital toilet
A Bury St Edmunds man has been charged after a woman was filmed in a hospital toilet before someone demanded £1,000 from her on social media.
Piotr Prasalek, 34, of Pemberton Walk, has been charged with making an unwarranted demand with menaces and a second charge of recording a person conducting a private act with the intention of obtaining sexual gratification.
It follows an incident on March 11 where a female victim was filmed in a toilet at West Suffolk Hospital in Bury.
The victim later received a demand on social media to make a payment of £1,000 to an individual.
Following police inquiries Prasalek was arrested yesterday and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.
He appeared at Ipswich Magistrates Court this morning where his case was sent to Ipswich Crown Court to appear on April 20. He was remanded in custody.
Police are working with staff at the hospital closely to search all toilets throughout the hospital premises and help develop a plan of action to prevent similar incidents occurring in the future.
