Brandon man Michael McCulloch jailed after stealing from church and targeting Mildenhall shop
A 46-year-old man has been jailed for seven months after admitting he stole cash from a church café and groceries from a Foodbank in Brandon.
Michael McCulloch, of London Road, Brandon, was sentenced for one count of burglary and one count of attempted burglary.
Ipswich Magistrates' Court heard that on March 28 he stole a safe containing cash of around £300 and £70 in vouchers from what is thought to be Church of Christ in London Road.
He was arrested after the incident was captured on CCTV. McCulloch was also identified as the suspect of an attempted burglary on April 2 at Martin’s Furnishers, in High Street, Mildenhall.
McCulloch was also ordered to pay £375 compensation.
A man in his 40s was also arrested by police in connection with the Brandon burglary and has been released.
