Bury St Edmunds father and son appear in court charged with murder of Neil Charles
A father and son have appeared in court charged with the murder of a man in his 40s.
David King, 55, and Edward King, 18, both of Radnor Close, Bury St Edmunds, appeared by video link at Suffolk Magistrates' court this morning.
The pair are both charged with murder following an incident in Winsford Road at around 3.55am on June 20, during which Neil Charles, 47, also of Bury St Edmunds, suffered a single stab wound.
Mr Charles was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge and died two days later.
King and King were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm on June 20, but they were released under investigation.
They were were re-arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder and charged later that day.
The case has now been moved to Ipswich Crown Court, where the men also appeared this afternoon for a first hearing.
The case will next be heard on January 6, 2022, for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
