Man arrested for theft from motor vehicle and drug possession in Bury St Edmunds

A 46-year-old man has been arrested for theft from a vehicle and possession of drugs in Bury St Edmunds.

Police were called to St Martin's Road at around 1.50am this morning following reports of an ongoing attempted theft from a motor vehicle.

Officers arrived and arrested the man on suspicion of interfering with a motor vehicle and possession of class A and B drugs.

He was then taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning where he was further arrested on suspicion of theft from a vehicle.

Suffolk Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or suspects they have been a victim of a similar crime, to contact them on 101 quoting crime reference 37/32427/21.
