Bury St Edmunds massage parlour raid leads arrested in connection with modern slavery offences
A man has been arrested in connection with modern slavery offences in Bury St Edmunds.
Officers executed a warrant at Summer Health Chinese Massage and Beauty in the St Olaves Precinct, on the Howard Estate, yesterday.
Two foreign women were at the site and safeguarded, one of whom was arrested for immigration offences.
A further warrant was executed in tandem in Leicester and a 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of slavery, servitude, and forced or compulsory labour under the Modern Slavery Act.
He was taken into custody for questioning and bailed to return to Bury on July 11, pending further inquiries.
