A14 crash claims man's life in Suffolk




A man has died in a crash on the A14 in Suffolk.

Police remain at the scene of the serious road traffic collision on the A14 at Coddenham.

They have arrested a man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Officers were called to a two-vehicle collision on the westbound carriageway at about 4.50am this morning.

Police confirmed the incident involved a lorry and a car.

A male passenger in the car died at the scene. The driver of the lorry was unhurt.

Police say another passenger and the driver in the car sustained minor injuries.

Road closures are in place on the westbound between junction 51 and junction 50 with diversions in place.

These are likely to remain in place for some time and drivers are advised to find alternative routes.

The male driver of the car has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and taken into custody.

Investigations are under way to establish the cause and the road remains closed to allow these to take place and clear the debris.
