Man found stabbed in Bury St Edmunds street following incident




A man is receiving urgent medical attention in hospital after sustaining serious stab injuries after an incident in Bury St Edmunds.

Police were called to Winsford Road on the Moreton Hall estate at 3.55am in the early hours of today, after reports that a man had been seriously injured following an incident.

Officers located a man in his 40s in the road having sustained serious stab wounds.

The victim was taken to West Suffolk Hospital and stabilised before being transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, by ambulance.

Police are still on the scene, having closed the road off, and have arrested a man in his 50s on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, who has been taken into custody for questioning.

Members of the public have been asked to avoid the area, officers are conducting house to house inquiries and are looking for any CCTV footage that may help the investigation.
