Man injured after assault by two men in Abbey Gardens in Bury St Edmunds




A man was injured after he was punched multiple times by two men in a town’s gardens.

The incident was between 5.45pm and 5.50pm on Monday in the Abbey Gardens in Bury St Edmunds.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was near the main entrance of the gardens, when he approached two men and asked them where the public toilets were.

One of the men then punched the victim to the side of the head.

After walking away, the two men approached the victim again and punched him several more times, which cut his ear.

Both are described as white. One was wearing a light-blue t-shirt and three-quarter length trousers, with a pair of sunglasses on his head.

The other was wearing all black clothing, with a logo on the back of his t-shirt.

Officers are appealing and anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information is asked to contact Suffolk Police quoting crime reference 37/32658/25 via the website.
