Man, in 80s, who died following road traffic collision on junction of A143 and B1113 near Rickinghall identified by Suffolk Police




An 85-year-old man who died following a two-car crash in Rickinghall has been named by police.

Leonard Rice, from Cotton near Stowmarket, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, despite a member of the public's efforts to save his life.

Officers from Suffolk Police were called to scene at the junction of the A143 and B1113 in Finningham Road shortly after 10.05am yesterday following reports of a grey Toyota Corolla, which was being driven by Mr Rice, having collided with a black Ford Focus.

Fire, ambulance and air ambulance crews were also in attendance.

A file is now being prepared for the coroner.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, along with anyone driving in the area just prior to the incident who has dashcam footage, to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting reference: 21775/21.
