A man has been jailed after admitting being in possession of a knife near shops in Bury St Edmunds.
Pascal Hepp Stronza was arrested on May 29 after being seen with a kitchen knife in his trouser pocket as he left the Spar store at St Olaves Parade.
Police responded and found Stronza nearby.
A search of the area revealed the knife. Stronza admitted having a bladed article in a public place.
Yesterday, Ipswich Crown Court heard that Stronza, 35, of Boby Road, Bury St Edmunds, was jailed last year for a similar offence.
Jonathan Hasson, in mitigation, said his client had forgotten that the knife was in his pocket and no threats had been made with it.
He was jailed for eight months.
