Thurston man to take part in East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices' Ride for Life
A man from Thurston near Bury St Edmunds is set to challenge himself to cycle 70 miles ahead of his 70th birthday, all to raise money for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
Ian Turner is set to cycle in the charity’s Ride for Life fund-raiser set to take place in May.
Alongside friend Ian Copping, the pair will cycle just over 70 miles starting in Snetterton, in Norfolk, and finishing in Ipswich.
Ian Turner said: "I am 70 this year and I thought 70-years-old doing 70 plus miles has a bit of a ring to it.
"I’ve always done charity events all my life."
Ian hopes to raise £2,000 for the charity.
"It’s a personal challenge for me, but at the same time I’m raising money for a local children’s hospice.
"With Covid going on, charities are struggling big time to get money in."
