Bury St Edmunds Harland Court murder investigation - man's bail extended as woman to be released from hospital

A man arrested in connection with a murder investigation after a double stabbing in Bury St Edmunds has had his bail extended.

A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder after police were called to the fatal stabbing at Harland Court, on Station Hill, on Tuesday, April 26 at 3pm.

Officers found a man and a woman in a flat who had both suffered stab wounds.

Karl Skoulding, 43, from Bury St Edmunds, was declared dead shortly after officers arrived.

The 38-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder was released on bail until yesterday pending further inquiries.

His bail has now been extended to July 26 to answer at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.

Police believe the parties involved were all known to one another.

The second victim, a woman in her 40s, is due to be released from hospital later this afternoon.

Detectives continue to appeal for any witnesses to the attack and would like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of Harland Court between 2pm and 3pm.
