West Suffolk Council launches grant series to help businesses missed off




Businesses not eligible for the Government's restart grant could still receive financial help with a share of a pledged £1.8million.

West Suffolk Council has announced the financial injection this week as part of its series of Additional Restrictions Grants (ARG) which aims to support traders.

The authority has now launched its 'ARG Restart Grants' to help businesses ineligible for the Government scheme but still facing fixed costs.

These include market traders, hospitality firms, and those in shared premises that are not the rate payer. It also extends to retail, supply chain, and leisure businesses.

Julie Baird, director for growth at West Suffolk Council, said: "As restrictions lift and we move into the recovery phase, the aim of this one-off payment is to help businesses reopen safely."

The deadline to apply is May 3.
