Mildenhall Fen Tigers have helped Daniel Turner from Moreton Hall raise £710 by staging a speedway fund-raiser for his appeal to raise money for Clic Sargent.

Daniel now has nearly £3,000 towards his £4,000 target for the charity which supported Shelly Dring and her family. Shelly died from cancer in 2009 aged just 24. She was engaged to Daniel at the time and he has been raising money in her memory since then.

After the meeting against the Birmingham Brummies both teams took part in the Clic Sargent’s Shelly’s Smile Trophy which was sponsored by Les Dixon and won by Danny Halsy.

Daniel said: “I am very grateful to Kevin Jolly who agreed to hold this event and all the riders who took part as well as Phil Kirk, my parents and nieces and nephews who helped on the day.”
