Miles of traffic on A14 at Bury St Edmunds after bus breaks downs

One lane of the A14 near Bury St Edmunds was closed this morning after a double decker bus broke down.

The incident caused very long delays in the area and traffic sensors showed miles of queuing traffic.

The breakdown and closure was close to junction 41, Risby Interchange on the westbound carriageway.

Delays were back to junction 40, Higham Interchange.

Highways England asked drivers to use alternative routes where possible, but tweeted at 9.10am to say the scene was now clear and traffic was returning to normal.
