Specialist cleaning supplier expands into UK at Moreton Hall
A new UK company supplying antibacterial cleaning has launched on Moreton Hall.
Zoono, UK and Europe, is being run by former RAF Regiment chief of staff James Milnes.
James’s 20 year military background working with the 20 Defence Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear(CBRN) |Wing, RAF Regiment at Honington has given him an insight into the risk of germ warfare.
He is now managing director of Zoono in the UK and Europe which provides antibacterial cleaning and long term protection against germs. The company was founded in 2008 in New Zealand.
The Bunting Road business supplies the safe, water based system which can be used for personal, domestic and commercial use and has successfully completed its PAS2424 test which is proof of continuous residual activity after cleaning.
Following trials on the London Underground a treated train came back 100% clear after 28 days of uninterrupted service.
The product’s history goes back to use by the Germans as an anti fouling agent in World War 11.
Declassified in the late 90s company CEO Paul Hyslop worked with chemists to create a non toxic water based antimicrobial product.
Zoono works by applying a mist, foam or wipe and, leaving it to dry, it then forms a film of microscopic pins that attract, pierce and kill pathogens.
Zoono has just signed a deal with a large European pharmaceutical company and has drawn up further agreements in Europe.
It has signed the Armed Forces Covenant and is a bronze award holder of the MoD’s Employer Recognition Scheme.
James said: “While healthcare and medical systems are improving there is a continuing risk to the health of society. It is important business takes responsibility for staff health and well being to protect them from getting ill. We are great advocates of this social resilience.”
