Police have handed out 19 fines for breaking Covid-19 restrictions and seized almost a dozen motorbikes during a operation in a Suffolk forest today.

Officers from Suffolk Rural and Wildlife Policing Team seized 11 motorbikes and a quad bike from people in Kings Forest, near West Stow.

During the joint operation with Bedfordshire Police and the Kestrel Team, officers also handed out 10 fines for no insurance, as well as 14 tickets for other offences.

Police have also warned others from behaving in a similar manner at the Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), owned by Forestry England, where it is illegal to drive or ride motor vehicles.

They said: "Those abusing this SSSI are not welcome.

"We'll be back again soon, so don't chance it."
