Motorcyclist suffers ‘potentially life-threatening injuries’ in A134 at Alpheton, between Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury, three-vehicle crash
A motorcyclist suffered potentially life-threatening injuries in a three-vehicle crash.
SuffolkNews reported yesterday the A134 at Alpheton, between Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury, was shut after the incident at about 5.20pm.
It involved a motorcycle, a grey transit van and a silver Volkswagen Polo.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, East of England Ambulance Service, air ambulance and a volunteer paramedic from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) were all at the scene.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, suffered serious injuries which may be life-threatening and was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, a police spokesperson said.
The Volkswagen Polo driver, a man in his late teens, was also injured but these are not believed to be serious. He was initially taken to West Suffolk Hospital, but was then moved to Addenbrooke’s.
The van driver was not injured.
The road reopened at around 2am today.
Police would like to hear from witnesses to the crash and also ask for any motorists in the area at the time who may have dashcam footage to come forward.
