West Suffolk MP Matt Hancock headers balloons in I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Here! challenge alongside Mike Tindall

It's been another day of trials and tribulations for West Suffolk MP Matt Hancock, as he found himself covered in gunk in his latest I'm A Celebrity... challenge.

Tonight's episode kicked off with a farewell to Boy George, who is the fourth celebrity to be evicted from the jungle.

But there was no time for a big send-off, because Ant and Dec had a new trial lined up for the celebrities.

Matt volunteered himself for 'Critty Critty Bang Bang' - but was rebuffed by the rest of the gang.

The West Suffolk MP said of this: "The funny thing about the trials is, I keep offering, and somebody else keeps doing them. Which is fine by me."

'Critty Critty Bang Bang' saw Jill Scott suspended over the jungle in a flying car.

She had to pick stars out of bug-and-fish-gut-filled boxes attached to the car.

A subsequent challenge offered Matt the opportunity to prove himself, as he and Mike Tindall donned fatsuits to header balloons as part of an anagram-solving game.

Tokens with letters fell out of some of the balloons – but others exploded into blood, molasses and other icky stuff, drenching Matt.

After picking up the required tokens, the MP was forced to leave most of the problem-solving to Mike.

Matt confessed: "I'm terrible at anagrams. I'm dyslexic, so all the letters are already in an anagram [for me]."

Nevertheless, Mike praised his teammate's skills foraging for letters on the jungle floor.

He said: "To be fair to Matt, he has got eagle eyes."

Although the boys successfully cracked the anagram, the celebrities back in camp let them down at the last moment by failing to answer a trivia question – meaning they could not win any extra provisions for the camp.

Later on, Matt was not too enamoured of the other celebrities' campfire banter, with Seann Walsh's antics waking him from slumber just as he was nodding off.

The MP was left visibly baffled by his teammates' advice on how best to get to sleep: by pretending to sleep!

Matt said of this: "On one level, it makes sense - but that's just called going to sleep, isn't it?"

Tonight's jungle meal of hare and banana blossom gave Matt another opportunity to showcase his culinary skills.

Once again, he took charge, chopping up the hare for the rest of the squad.

Matt survived the latest eviction, with comedian Babatúndé Aléshé exiting the jungle.

Matt’s jungle high point:

Breaking out of his comfort zone after a few episodes in the background of camp by taking part in a suitably sticky challenge.

Matt’s jungle low point:

He seemed somewhat put out after being stirred from his sleep by a Seann Walsh comedy routine.
