Thetford MP Liz Truss makes final three in Prime Minister and leadership race
Thetford's MP Liz Truss has made it through to final three still with a chance of becoming the next Conservative party leader and the country's next Prime Minister.
The fourth ballot today saw the MP for south west Norfolk and Foreign Secretary gain 15 more votes than yesterday's vote, with 86, but still stayed in third place.
Kemi Badenoch was the next MP to leave the race after only gaining 59 votes.
Rishi Sunak remained the front runner with 118 votes, with Penny Mordaunt in second on 92.
With three candidates left, they will face another vote tomorrow with MPs picking the two candidates they wish to go head-to-head.
The final pair will then take on a series of hustings around the country in August to gain Conservative party members votes.
On September 5, the candidate who will then become the party's new leader and the country's Prime Minister will be announced.
