Bury St Edmunds town centre to be in full bloom this winter thanks to hanging baskets

Bury St Edmunds town centre will be awash with floral colour this winter after nearly 50 hanging baskets were put up.

The 48 baskets have been organised by Bury in Bloom, with support from Bury St Edmunds Town Council, and put up by a team from West Suffolk Council.

David Irvine, Bury in Bloom co-ordinator said: "With finances much tighter than normal we have had no choice but to reduce the numbers of baskets, however we have concentrated them where we think they will give most pleasure.

"The WSC team headed up by Jason Baldwin (you may remember him from the summer) take great care putting up the forty-eight 20 kg baskets.

He added: "West Suffolk Council have also done a stunning job with street level planters and the Abbey Gardens now have their winter bedding plants.

"Look out for them and enjoy as we look forward with hope to better days in 2021."
