Nearly Festival is back next month
The organiser of the Nearly Festival has announced today that it will be making a one-day garden party-style come back to Bury St Edmunds next month.
The hugely popular festival, which shows a range of tribute acts to musical superstars, will feature the music of Madness, Beyonce, The Specials and Ed Sheeran on August 16 at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club.
It will follow a day after an Ibiza Brunch themed music event on the Southgate Green site, both run by Adam Coulton.
He said: "We are so pleased to announce this as we honestly thought we were not going to have the chance of do it this year.
"We are so happy and thankful to the rugby club in helping us bring these events forward, they have been amazing and though they are only three weeks away and last minute dot com, I know the people of Bury will come out to support us as they always do."
The festival, much like its dance anthemed predecessor that weekend, will have four metre by three metre ‘personal areas’ for up to six people to enjoy the day.
Adam said: "It is going to be so nice that we can bring people together, though socially distanced, to enjoy this event and even though it is only one day I am glad we could bring something rather than nothing here as Bury is my favourite place."
The original event, which is normally in the Abbey Gardens in the town, was set for June 20 and 21, but due to covid-19 had to be cancelled and Adam hopes music lovers will still embrace the festival in its new format and setting.
He said: "I know it has been a difficult year, especially for the events industry and I know the people that normally follow us will come to support us, so it will be great to see faces old and new enjoying the music."
