New Bury St Edmunds store to create 25 jobs

‘Proper hamburger’ restaurant chain Byron will be looking to hire 25 staff for its new Bury St Edmunds store, which is expected to open in the arc this autumn.

Byron’s founder, Tom Byng, said he was ‘looking forward to meeting all the people in Bury who want to join the Byron team’.

The entrepreneur, who opened his first Byron in 2007 and now has 50 restaurants, said he chose to expand his business into Bury because he was ‘struck by its beauty and charm’.

He said: “We’re always on the lookout for interesting and unique locations where people will like what we do and, with its rich and vibrant food scene, we found that in Bury.”

Tom, who is proud of Byron’s hamburgers - good Scottish beef, cooked pink, with classic toppings and flavours - and extensive craft beer list, is confident its ‘attention to detail’ will make it stand out.

He said: “We can’t wait. We’re busy putting the finishing touches to the restaurant’s design, which will be unique to Bury, and lining up some treats and surprises for people to celebrate the opening itself.”

The restaurant will be opening in an expanded unit opposite Carluccio’s.
