Bury St Edmunds: New dawn for Your Telemarketing and business opens new premises
Staff at a growing telemarketing company are looking forward to returning to work, with the business set to move into new premises.
The Covid-19 crisis meant Your Telemarketing had to put on hold plans to upsize.
But the company’s owner has now restarted the process, and is looking forward to moving staff from The Bakery, St Andrew’s Street South, to Old School Hall, Well Street, in Bury St Edmunds.
Laura Morrison, who is also the managing director, said: “The business had been steadily growing prior to the start of the Covid-19 crisis and was operating at capacity.
“This meant that the search for new premises, and recruitment processes had already been started.
“However, as soon as the government announced lockdown, the Your Telemarketing team all moved to work remotely and expansion plans were put on hold.”
Mrs Morrison said Your Telemarketing, which she founded in 2011, had been impacted by a loss of revenue and some of the firm’s eight agents had been put on furlough.
But the managing director is hopeful the virus’s impact will only be a short term issue and her firm will soon ‘regain its former strength’.
She continued: “My team are desperate to get back to work, even if this means that they continue to work from home for all or part of the time. Our systems and processes fully support remote working which means we can help employees who still have children at home to work in a way that suits their family.
“My staff are very important to me.”
The new office has twice as much square footage and has expanded from eight work stations to 12. There is also more space for staff and customers to gather.
Your Telemarketing was founded on the vision of supporting small and medium sized businesses with flexible and affordable telemarketing.
The company also has offices in Ipswich and Basingstoke.
In 2016, the firm was selected as one East Anglia’s Future50 businesses and Mrs Morrison won East of England IoD Innovation Director of the year in 2018 and CSR Director of the year in 2019.
She continued: “The new offices create an improved working environment, with more space to work in, but also a small area for the team to relax in during breaks.
”It also enables very effective social distancing so that we can start to work from the office again as allowed.”
