‘No further evidence of crime’ after Mount Road, Bury St Edmunds, suspicious incident investigation launched




Police have found ‘no further evidence of crime’ after an investigation into a reported suspicious incident in a town was launched.

A member of the public reported she had witnessed a struggle between a man and a woman, who appeared to be in distress, between 9.45pm and 10pm on May 11 in Mount Road, near Tassel Road, Bury St Edmunds.

Police arrived at the scene soon after but could not locate anyone invovled and no one had reported being a victim of crime.

Officers have pursued the incident in the week following it, including searches, house-to-house inquires and with support from specialist partners.

From this, a victim has not been identified or any further evidence or witnesses found.

As such, the investigation has been closed, pending new information coming to light.
