Nominate Bury St Edmunds’ good neighbours for Bury Free Press Community Awards 2025
Nominations are open for the Bury Free Press Community Awards which celebrate individuals and groups who go the extra mile to make a difference in Bury St Edmunds.
Held in partnership with headline sponsor Bury St Edmunds Town Council, the awards shine a light on the town’s heroes — from lifetime achievements and charity work to inspiring community champions.
Among the returning supporters is TREATT, backing the Everybody Needs Good Neighbours category.
Chloe Ludkin, of TREATT, said: “These awards shine a light on the individuals whose everyday acts of kindness and dedication often go unrecognised.
“We’re honoured to once again sponsor the 'Everybody Needs Good Neighbours' award. This sponsorship reflects our ongoing commitment to nurturing a supportive, caring environment.
“The award itself embodies the very essence of community — recognising those who go above and beyond to help others, fostering connection, goodwill and a ripple effect of positivity throughout our neighbourhoods.”
The 10 awards this year are Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Best Event by a Community Group, Good Deed, Everybody Needs Good Neighbours, Eco-Friendly, Best Community Group, Community Food Hero, Charity of the Year and Lifetime Achievement.
To nominate, go to www.iliffemediapromotions.co.uk/bury-community-awards.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Guildhall on September 11.
Chloe added: “These awards wouldn’t be possible without the involvement of readers like you.
“Your nominations are the heartbeat of this initiative.”
