Risby Hall Nursing Home could see 31 new bedrooms and additional resident facilities built in newly submitted proposals




A nursing home near Bury St Edmunds could be extended with 31 additional bedrooms and a reception area in new plans.

Submitted to West Suffolk Council by applicant The Partnership in Care, the proposals include alterations and extensions to provide extra space for residents and include the change of use, conversion and demolition of an agricultural building.

The plans would see additional residential facilities, including a new reception area and 31 new bedrooms, as well as increased parking with designated spaces for minibuses and disabled drivers.

There would also be new landscaping, including a play area and indoor and outdoor gardens.

The site, which comprises of Risby Hall Nursing Home and Risby Park Nursing Home, has been in operation since 1988, and recently acquired farm yard and a cottage to the north west of the site.

It offers nursing, residential, rehabilitation and dementia services at its two homes and currently has a total of 88 bed spaces.
