One person arrested and two cars recovered from ditch on A143 at Wattisfield after crash

Emergency services were called to a crash on the A143 at Wattisfield, in between Bury St Edmunds and Diss, yesterday evening which left two cars in a ditch.

Police responded to reports of the crash at the junction with Townhouse Lane at about 8pm.

Following the incident, one person was arrested and another was taken to hospital to be checked over.

At 8pm, police said the road was blocked in both directions and advised drivers to find alternative routes.

By 8.35pm, the road had reopened in both directions, but it had closed again by 9.20pm while the cars were recovered from the ditch.

At 1.30am this morning, Norfolk and Suffolk Roads and Armed Policing Team said the road was open once again.
