New plans for overspill car parking at All Saints Hotel, in Fornham St Genevieve, near BurySt Edmunds

Plans for overspill car parking at a hotel and leisure complex near Bury St Edmunds have been submitted.

West Suffolk Council is considering the bid by M&D Developments Ltd to build 15 new car parking spaces at All Saints Hotel, in The Street, Fornham St Genevieve.

Earlier this week, plans for an outdoor gym on the same site were given the go-ahead.

A statement said the proposals could see the 15-space overspill parking area built adjacent to a new under-construction bedroom wing, which is nearing completion.

The statement said: “The proposed development will result in the loss of a small area (approx. 0.158 hectares) adjacent to the in-construction new bedroom wing of the hotel.

“Prior to the construction of the bedroom wing the site supported amenity grassland (modified grassland) that was regularly managed as part of the existing golf course.

“The proposed parking overspill is not considered likely to result in potential effects on habitats of value.”
