'Patriot Express' to start scheduled flights into RAF Mildenhall next month

New scheduled flights for United States military, civilian members and their families changing station to the UK will start at RAF Mildenhall next month.

From September 20 the Patriot Express flight, known as the rotator, will fly between Baltimore/Washington International and Mildenhall.

The rotator is a commercially contracted plane with capacity for about 240 passengers and up to 10 in-cabin pet spaces.

Captain Cole Finnerty, 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron deployment and distribution flight commander, said: "This is a huge win for our airmen and their families as it saves their personal time and money during an already daunting international transition.”

Flights will run twice a month – two inbound and two outbound – and typically the outbound flight will be the day after the aircraft arrives at RAF Mildenhall.
