PHOTOS: Rising flood water closes street in Mildenhall

A street in Mildenhall has closed because of rising flood water.

Police were called at 8.45am to reports that flood water had lifted a manhole cover in Mildenhall town centre.

The rising water level has now caused the closure of Mill Street.

A vehicle is also in need of recovery after becoming stuck in the flood water.

Police are in liaison with other emergency services, the Environment Agency and other partner agencies in response to the incident.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and to not attempt to travel through the water to avoid any further vehicles becoming stuck.
