LEARN MOREPlanners are set to consider resubmitted proposals for 279 homes in Needham Market.
Agricultural land north of Barking Road has been earmarked for the development, which would include 100 affordable homes.
Applicants David Willis, Marlene Perry and Michael Watson – the consortium of landowners – have applied to Mid Suffolk District Council for outline permission for the homes, access, parking provision and open space.
A design and access statement submitted to planners said the expected mix of accommodation on the 15-hectare development could include one to five-bedroom homes comprising detached, semi-detached, terraced homes and bungalows.
A planning statement said: "The vision and 'masterplan’ for the site is to provide a scheme which responds to the local context and has a unique and distinctive character, is well designed and provides functional, environmentally sustainable homes."
It added the new scheme would have strong visual and physical links to the surrounding area; provide pedestrian, cycle and vehicle routes; offer green spaces between existing development and proposed homes; include areas for recreation and incorporate a range of housing types.
