SuffolkNews Podcast: Skyward Flight Training, at Rougham, near Bury St Edmunds, on cloud nine with potential new home




On today’s podcast, we have news that a Suffolk flying school on the brink of closing after being told its site lease was not being extended, could have secured a new home at the 11th hour.

Skyward Flight Training’s Chris Shepherd-Rose received a letter from site owners Rougham Estate in February, informing him his lease would expire at the end of May.

But as the owner and members of the school, near Bury St Edmunds, were packing up on Wednesday, he told the Bury Free Press they potentially had a new home – subject to approval from the site’s owners.

A suspected drug-driver was arrested in Thurston last night after producing a positive drug wipe.

The Norfolk and Suffolk Roads and Armed Policing Team, stopped the vehicle with assistance from Bury St Edmunds Police shortly before 8.15pm and discovered he had no licence.

Residents have spoken out over a controversial boundary dispute as they believe their village could be ‘swallowed up’ by a neighbouring town.

The people of Onehouse, including members of the Parish Council, have voiced their concerns over the 446 homes in the developments from Hopkins Homes and Bloor Homes which sit on the boundary between Onehouse and Stowmarket.
