Suffolk News podcast: Man from Stanton, near Bury St Edmunds, raises over £10,000 for charity in memory of wife who died from bowel cancer

In today's podcast, a man has raised over £10,000 for charity in memory of his 'selfless' wife who died from bowel cancer last month.

So far Dan Frost, of Stanton, near Bury St Edmunds, has raised over £11,000 for Bowel Research UK in aid of his wife Lisa, who died aged 43.

Dan, who has so far taken on two marathons and joined the Bardwell Tractor Run as part of his fund-raising efforts, described Lisa as a 'selfless mother, wife and friend'.

An Ipswich man has been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison following a shooting in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.

Sean Price, 24, of Rushmere Road, was arrested on August 12, 2020, eight days after an incident in which a 16-year-old boy was shot in the neck.

At Croydon Crown Court on Friday, Price was handed 21 years in prison for being in possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

And in good news, the Unruly Pig, in Bromeswell, near Woodbridge, has been named the best gastropub in the country by Estrella Damm.

The beer brewing company have called the pub 'winsome and warm' and praised the 'filling and well-crafted pub food'.
