Suffolk News podcast: Woman in 20s dies following car crash in Ringsfield, near Beccles
In today's podcast, we have the news a woman has sadly died after her car crashed into a tree in Ringsfield, near Beccles.
Police were called at around 1.55am today following reports of a single-vehicle collision in School Road.
The driver and only person in the vehicle – a woman in her 20s – was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three men were due to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court today charged in connection with an incident of unlawful imprisonment and assault in Lowestoft which left the victim needing to go to hospital.
The charges relate to an incident on Saturday, when a teenager was held against his will at an address in Jacobs Street and assaulted by two men over a period of time.
Following police inquiries, officers arrested two men late on Tuesday and a third man in the early hours of this morning in connection with the incident.
And finally, the number of people applying to study adult nursing at the University of Suffolk has increased by around 25 per cent year-on-year, the latest data shows.
According to Dr Sam Chenery-Morris, head of nursing and midwifery at the University of Suffolk, the number of applications for adult nursing increased 25 per cent in 2020-2021 from the previous year.
Dr Chenery-Morris, who has been in her role for around three years, said she did not find the statistics surprising but believed the pandemic had made people realise 'how good the NHS is and what it does for the nation.'
