Police and army called to deal with unexploded World War Two bomb found in field




Police and the army were called to a report of an unexploded World War Two bomb discovered in a Suffolk village this morning.

Officers attended after being alerted to the three inch mortar found in a field at Elveden at about 8.35am.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said: "A cordon was imposed and the army bomb disposal unit were called to conduct a controlled explosion on the device."
