Bury St Edmunds police arrest four men as cash, suspected cannabis and sword seized

Four men have been arrested after £20,000, suspected cannabis and two weapons including a sword were seized.

Police stopped a vehicle in Acacia Avenue, Bury St Edmunds, yesterday.

Three men were arrested at the scene and a fourth was arrested at a nearby property.

A search of the vehicle found a small quantity of suspected cannabis, as well as cash and items of drug paraphernalia.

A section 32 search under the Misuse of Drugs Act was conducted on the property where the fourth man was arrested.

A large quantity of cash thought to be in the region of £20,000 and more than 90gms of suspected cannabis were found in a bedroom.

Two weapons – a lock knife and a sword – were also discovered in the property.

Three men, aged 19, 22 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in supplying drugs.

A 21-year-old was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in supplying drugs, on suspicion of money laundering and on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs.

They were all taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning where they remain.
