A14 westbound between Needham Market and Stowmarket closed after serious crash between car and lorry

A stretch of the A14 between Needham Market and Stowmarket has been closed after a serious collision between a car and a lorry.

The crash was just before 5am and Suffolk Police are on scene along with Highways England traffic officers.

The road is closed westbound between junction 51 at Needham Market and junction 50 at Stowmarket.

The closure is expected to be in place for several hours.

A diversion is in place and motorists have been advised to allow extra time for their journey.

Motorists have been advised to follow the hollow triangle diversion symbol and exit the A14 at junction 52 at Claydon on to the B1113.

They should continue on the B1113 through Great Blakenham and Needham Market until the junction with the A1120.

At the junction turn right and continue on the A1120 to rejoin the A14 at junction 50.
