Police investigation continues into reported struggle between man and woman in Mount Road, Bury St Edmunds

A police investigation is continuing into an incident involving a reported struggle between a man and a woman.

A member of the public reported she had witnessed the incident and the woman appeared to be in distress between 9.45pm and 10pm on Sunday in Mount Road, near Tassel Road, Bury S Edmunds.

Officers arrived at the scene soon after being called but were unable to find anyone.

No one was reported being a victim of an offence linked to the incident and officers have not been able to identify either of the parties involved.

Further police inquiries, including searches in the vicinity of Mount Road, were due to be undertaken as officers were keen to establish exactly what took place.

The only description of the woman is that she appeared to have light-coloured long hair.

Today, a police spokesperson said inquiries were ongoing.
