Police urge dog walkers to be vigilant over suspected poisons placed on pavements in Barrow

Dog owners have been urged to be vigilant after suspected poisons were placed on pavements in Barrow.

Suffolk Police received a report yesterday (January 12) at 10.55am that a substance, believed to be rat poison, had been laid on food smeared on the pavement, in Bury Road.

A spokesman said: "Police suspect this has been done to target dogs."

He added: "Anybody who suspects their dog or cat has ingested such matter should seek urgent veterinaryhelp.

"Dog walkers in the area should be vigilant and keep pets away – do not touch as currently unsure what chemicals it contains."

Anyone with information that could lead officers to who is responsible should contact police, quoting CAD 113 of 12/01/2020.
