Bury St Edmunds thefts see police urge caution

Police are urging shoppers to be wary after a purse and handbag were stolen in Bury St Edmunds within minutes of one another.

Between 3pm and 3.30pm on Saturday a handbag was stolen from the back of a mobility scooter in Buttermarket.

Around the same time, a purse was stolen from a handbag in the arc shopping centre.
