Residents warned to be vigilant after van suspected to be involved in scrap metal theft spotted in Old Newton




Police have warned residents to be vigilant after a van was spotted in a Suffolk village suspected to be involved in scrap metal theft.

In a tweet, a Suffolk Rural and Wildlife Policing spokesman said a white LDV Maxus van had been seen in the Old Newton area with items taken from skips.

They said it was likely to be involved in scrap metal theft.

Residents were urged to be vigilant and report any sightings if those in the van were seen on private premises without permission.
