Woolpit Steam Rally cancelled for 2021 due to Covid-19 pandemic

Woolpit Steam Rally has become the latest event cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Organisers said this week the annual fundraiser will next be held on May 28-29 2022.

'"This is a week earlier than normal on account of the extended, four-day bank holiday planned for the first weekend of June," an organiser said.

The event has raised more than £15,000 for charities in recent years.

"With the continuation of lockdown and no clear guarantee of when any part of the entertainment sector will be allowed to reopen it would be foolish to make plans which will very likely have to be amended or cancelled nearer the time."
